Membership Categories

The club has various categories of membership
The following rates apply for the membership year 1 Oct 2020 - 30 Sept 2021:

* Single payments marked thus are shown with a £50 prompt payment discount for payment received before 1st November. After this time, the fee increments by £50.
*1 Some competitive squads have a coaching supplement. Details available from Squad Leaders.
*2. Senior Squad membership shown with £150 performance fee included and the balance to fund during the year.
Members in all classes are required to be in possession of an activated access fob. These are issued free of charge to new members. Lost fobs must be replaced at a cost of £5.
If you primarily row for another club (e.g. University Students, people who live abroad) then we can offer a discounted membership fees to reflect the time you actually train with us.
Trial Membership: For new members considering whether to join, there is a trial period (not to exceed one month) option available for a single monthly payment.
Pro-rata: If you join part way through the year we will usually pro-rata your membership so that you are only paying for the months you are with us.

How to apply/renew
Existing Members
All membership fees are due on 1st October
Membership and racking can be renewed online. Junior Categories B, B1 &C must also complete a consent form.

New Members
If you have just finished the learn to row course, or have rowed before and would like to join the club, have a look at what squads and groups we have available.
To join, please use the paper membership form.
All membership fees are due on 1st of month of joining and must be paid within 30 days. If joining during the membership year please contact the membership secretary, who will advise the amount due for the remainder of the membership year.

Note 1: This must be accompanied by an email to membership@marlowrowingclub.org.uk, stating Member's Name and class of membership required.
Note 2: To pay by this option you need to request a direct debit mandate by an email to membership@marlowrowingclub.org.uk stating the categories of membership & racking required. This request must be made before 20th September. You will then be sent a mandate or mandates which you need to activate on or before 28th September. The payment will be taken on 1st October annually. You will be notified of any change to future annual payments before further payments become due. Payment by this method will attract the £50 discount where applicable.
Note 3: To pay by this option you need to request a direct debit mandate by an email to membership@marlowrowingclub.org.uk stating the categories of membership & racking required. This request must be made before 15th October. You will then be sent a mandate or mandates which you need to activate on or before 25th October. The payment will be taken on 28th October and monthly thereafter on 28th of each month. You will be notified of any change to future annual payments before further payments become due.
Members with existing direct debits. The club will automatically update these to the new rate after the 28th September payment and before the 28th October payment. Members wishing to change to another method need to contact the membership secretary.
It must be appreciated that this is not a “pay as you go” arrangement and if you terminate the arrangement without the agreement of MRC before the end of membership year you will be liable for a single payment equivalent to all unpaid monthly payments.
Affordability
Hardship Fund: If you are unable to afford the normal payment scheme due to your economic circumstances, you can apply to the Trustees (via the membership secretary) for alternative payment schemes. Each case is considered on its merits.
President's Fund: The President's Fund provides grants to individuals from Marlow that are competing at country (e.g. Home Championships) or International level.
