Watermanship Skills
Develop confidence in boat and start to build and demonstrate watermanship skills.
For many, develop confidence and abilities in a single scull.
Compete a swimming and capsize drill to BR standards.
Fitness
Develop basic flexibility, strengthening and stability to prompt physical literacy and correct movement patterns.
Training Commitment
One per week water session on Saturdays.
Club Contribution
Understand and follow the Junior Code of Conduct.
Support for club activities welcome from JDS squad members and parents.
Entry
Following JLTR with a preference for J13 (year 8) rowers who are likely to enjoy the support of rowing and remain at the club.
Pathways
J14 and other junior squads.
Coaching
There is a team of 3 volunteer coaches who support the JDS athletes. There is no additional charge for JDS coaching.
