The JLTR course will cover basic water and boat safety, boat-handling skills, basic sculling technique and further development of existing sculling skills for those who have already had a taster.
Participants will have one session on the water each day (weather dependent), with further activities on land. The emphasis is on fun and participation. We will also include land-based fitness training for rowing, basic ergo technique and flexibility.
The skills taught are progressive so we recommend that participants attend all the sessions, which will lead up to a fun competition on the last day.
There are up to four groups, typcially with four or five particpants in each. The session last two hours each day and have a staggered start and finish time. Typically the first group starts at 13:30 and finishes at 15:30.
