Swim Tests

The test will be held at St Pirans School, Furze Platt, Maidenhead. SL6 7LZ.

Participants MUST wear long sleeved top and trousers. ’Skins’ type base layers are absolutely the best thing, thick cotton leggings and top, absolutely the worst. We are trying to get close to the type of clothing worn on the water. Each year participants go home disappointed, we will refuse to test anyone not wearing the right clothing. 

If you or your rower has completed a test elsewhere and has a completion certificate, please show this to your coach and it can be reviewed. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you at the test.

The test comprises:

• 100m swim (competent swim, under 6 min time limit)
• 5m under water
• Tread water 2 mins float 5 minutes
• Capsize (x2)

There is a fee of £10 to cover pool hire.

We have a lot of rowers to test, so please book your timeslot online. Please do pre-pay, come on time and do not forget the bit about kit.
